Don’t give emotion or affection to someone who can’t return it.
Sometimes life is quite complicated and it might not be about you at all but them, a timing thing, or even where they are in their own life. They can become stuck in a pattern in life so long that they lose their ability to be free from the emotional chains that bind them. So they become actually incapable of becoming a whole and healthy person who can live life fully and show you the level of love and tenderness you deserve. So if you want that in your life, you must let them go their own way to figure it all out. And rather instead, find that type of love and caring from someone who is willing and capable of giving it. These are difficult life lessons indeed. But they are not insurmountable once you let go of the belief that you can convince someone in any way concerning matters of the heart. It is simply not possible. They either care or they don’t. And if they do, love will always find a way. ~ Anne McDougle
